Emma Jane Fine Art Photography

I graduated from the University of Chester with a first-class degree in BA Photography at the age of 62 in June 2023. My first real photography project began at Alderley Edge, Cheshire. It led to the Isle of Skye, Whitby, various locations within the Eryri National Park and the River Dee in North Wales. That was my last project, which was exhibited at the CASC Gallery, Grosvenor Shopping Centre in Chester, together with my fellow AA2A/University of Chester Artists in Residence, during July 4th to 18th 2025. Through a perspective of fine art landscape photography and mythology, I wish to highlight the stories that were written, myths and legends that have filtered through the ages. Add a twist of my life experiences, influences and mental health, I want to present my narrative through the art of photography. I have overcome many hurdles. I feel that my story will inspire others who have or are going through difficult times to realise their passion and creativity. Achieving the degree is testament to my nature of never giving up, being enthusiastic about what I wanted to show as well as the passion and story behind every image. The award of the degree entitled me to achieve the Associate Distinction with the Royal Photographic Society. I am a member of the landscapes and women in photography groups within the RPS.
